How to Disconnect on Your Wedding Day and Live in the Moment

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and it’s understandable if you want everything to be perfect. Unfortunately, the pressure to make every detail flawless can make it challenging to enjoy the day fully. You may find yourself checking your phone constantly or worrying about things that aren’t important, such as the weather. Disconnecting seems impossible, but it’s crucial to make the most of your big day. In this blog, we’ll share tips on how to disconnect on your wedding day, leave the outside world for tomorrow, and live in every moment of your big day.

  1. Create a Technology-Free Zone

During your wedding ceremony and reception, consider making it a technology-free zone. Encourage your guests to live in the moment by having a sign that says: “Unplug, Relax and Enjoy the Moment.” You might have to remind your guests about the request gently, but most people will be okay with it. They should be present with you, not texting or scrolling through social media feeds. By implementing a technology-free zone, you’ll turn your wedding into an intimate affair while cultivating a sense of togetherness among your guests.

  1. Put Someone in Charge

You may find it challenging to disconnect from friends and family members who serve as your support system. However, you should leverage their presence to help you relax more. Designate an individual to act as your gatekeeper on your wedding day, responsible for intercepting phone calls and texts. Assign the task to someone who understands the importance of their role, such as your best friend or the wedding planner. With a gatekeeper in place, you can focus your attention on the most important things–your spouse and the once-in-a-lifetime moments shared with loved ones.

  1. Plan Something for the Morning of Your Wedding

The morning of your wedding day is a time to relax and prepare for an exciting day ahead. Consider engaging in activities that will help take your mind off any last-minute stresses. Try yoga, meditation, or go on a walk to clear your head. Spend time with your bridesmaids and enjoy a fun breakfast together. Afterward, you may consider scheduling a spa session and indulge in massages or facials. Having a planned agendais a great way to keep you grounded and at ease throughout the day.

  1. Be Mindful and Stay Present

It’s crucial to remain present during your wedding day and enjoy every moment. Don’t let anything take your attention away, not even things that may seem crucial. Let go of any concerns and focus solely on the moment. Pay attention to the sights, sounds, and smells of your surroundings. Take mental snapshots as you move from one event to another, and recognize the joy and emotions of your loved ones. Doing this will help you maintain a peaceful state of being and create lasting memories.

  1. Set Realistic Expectations

Finally, remember that things may not always go as planned on your wedding day. The weather may change, your hair may not look the way you envisioned, or maybe even the catering is running behind schedule. In such scenarios, focus on the bigger picture and avoid sweating the small stuff. Accept whatever comes your way, remain calm, and make the most of the situation. With this attitude, you’ll have fond memories that’ll surpass any chase for perfection.

Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, so it’s crucial to remember and cherish every moment. Disconnecting from your phone and the outside world, planning an anti-stress morning, cultivating mindfulness, and aiming for a technology-free zone are excellent ways to help you stay present during your big day. Although unplugging may seem like a daunting task, with preparation and commitment, you’ll cherish your wedding memories more for years to come. So go ahead, take a deep breath, and soak in the satisfying feeling that comes with appreciating every moment of your wedding day.

How to Choose The Best Time of Year for a Destination Wedding in Mexico or the Caribbean

Destination weddings are becoming increasingly popular in recent years, with
couples opting for picturesque locations to tie the knot. The Caribbean and Mexico
are two of the most sought-after destinations for a wedding. With their beautiful beaches, warm weather, and vibrant culture, these destinations provide the perfect backdrop for a dream wedding.

However, choosing the right time of year to have your destination wedding is crucial to ensure that you and your guests have the best experience possible. You can spend hours researching locations and resorts online and compare services, food and drinks and prices…but you might overlook the most important detail: what time of year do you have to visit to avoid hurricanes and tropical depressions.

Here’s a breakdown of what to expect weather wise for your destination wedding in the
tropics based on the time of year. I’ve even included some tips on choosing the best time of year for a destination wedding in Mexico or the Caribbean, if you’re considering tying the knot during hurricane season.

Let’s jump into the weather you can expect for your destination wedding in the Caribbean or Mexico based on the time of year that you travel.

If you want to know the best time of year to have a destination wedding in the Caribbean and Mexico, it is between December to April. This is the region’s dry season when rainfall is minimal, and the temperature is mild and comfortable, averaging around 78 to 82 degrees Farhenheit. Hello sunshine!

While the dry season is safer bet for a weather-friendly Caribbean or Mexico wedding, it’s not a guarantee. Rain and wind can still occur. Additionally, it’s essential to note that it’s also peak tourist season. This means that flights and accommodation are likely to be higher than at other times of the year. Bummer, I know.

Based on my experience, the most popular months to have a destination wedding are in May and November. This would be considered “shoulder season” where you aren’t really dealing with the higher “peak tourist” prices, but also don’t have as much concern with the weather. Hooray!

The struggle there is that the dates at the best resorts and venues book very quickly. So, if you want to plan a destination wedding in May or November, do not waste time or you’ll end up compromising on the venue.

So, what happens if the dry season months don’t work well for you and you are hosting your destination wedding in the Summer or Fall months, when hurricanes could develop?

First, let me put your mind at ease. Just because it is “hurricane season” doesn’t mean that a hurricane will develop.

Also, there are some destinations that are “safer” during the tropical season, so don’t throw in the towel quite yet!

Here are some tips on choosing the best time of year for a destination wedding in Mexico or the Caribbean to help avoid having your big day ruined by a storm.

Choose your wedding date wisely

As mentioned above, the best way to avoid hurricane season when planning your destination wedding is to choose a date outside of the peak months. If that isn’t possible, consider these general rules of thumb… Hurricane season runs from June to November, with the most active months being August, September, & October. If possible consider a wedding in June, July, Mid to Late November, or even early December.

Research the Weather Patterns

Each destination has different weather patterns during hurricane season, so do your research before choosing a location. Some islands or regions may be more prone to hurricanes than others. For example, the northern Caribbean islands are at higher risk than the southern ones. Consider speaking with a travel advisor who specializes in weddings to help you pick the right time and location.

Consider Wedding & Travel Insurance

Wedding insurance can provide a financial safety net in case of a hurricane or other natural disaster. It can cover unexpected expenses such as cancellations, postponements, or rescheduling fees. It’s important to note that not all wedding insurance policies cover natural disasters, so be sure to read the fine print before purchasing a policy.

Travel insurance is recommended for you and your guests. In case the weather prevents you from arriving to your destination, or requires you or your guests to depart early, it will protect your investment. Travel insurance is always recommended, but during the tropical season, it is much more imperative, so I encourage you to encourage your guests to have the right coverage.

Have a Backup Plan

Regardless of the date of your wedding, it’s always a good idea to have a backup plan in case of unexpected weather. When booking your venue and vendors, ask about their contingency plans in case of inclement weather. For example, some resorts may have indoor facilities or covered areas that can serve as backup locations for the ceremony or reception. It’s always a bonus when you love the back-up venue as much as your chosen outdoor venue.

Stay Updated on Weather Forecasts

If you’re planning a wedding during hurricane season, be sure to stay informed about any potential tropical storms or hurricanes that could impact your wedding plans. Sign up for weather alerts, monitor weather websites, and keep in touch with your vendors and venue. Be prepared to make changes if necessary and I advise to make a swift decision, getting the advice of the onsite wedding team, if things are not looking promising on your wedding day.

If the wedding team at your venue advises you to change to an indoor venue due the weather report, and you choose to move forward with an outdoor event, they will likely have you sign a contract. If weather does disrupt the wedding there will be a fee to set up the wedding decor again in the back-up location.

In conclusion, while the Caribbean and Mexico offer stunning wedding destinations,
it’s important to be mindful of hurricane season. By following these tips for choosing the best time of year for a destination wedding and doing your research, you can plan a beautiful and stress-free wedding. It’s the perfect time to enjoy the region’s stunning beauty, indulge in outdoor activities, and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones.

A Magical Last Dance: Why You Should Consider a Private Moment on Your Wedding Day

Your wedding day is one of the most magical and memorable days of your life. It’s a day filled with love, joy, and celebration. Every detail of your wedding is carefully planned, from the venue to the decor to the dress. But have you thought about how you’ll end the night? The last dance is an emotional and beautiful moment, but have you considered making it a private one? In this blog post, we’ll explore why a private last dance is worth considering and how it can make your wedding day even more special.

By the time you get to the last dance, your wedding day has been a whirlwind of activity. You’ve been surrounded by family and friends, and it’s been hard to find a quiet moment to yourselves. That’s where a private last dance comes in. It gives you a chance to have an intimate moment with your partner, to reflect on the day you’ve had, and to soak it all in. It’s a moment just for the two of you, and it’s a memory you’ll cherish forever.

Another benefit of a private last dance is that it allows you to focus on each other, without any distractions. When you’re out on the dance floor with all your guests, it can be hard to really connect with your partner. But when it’s just the two of you, you can slow dance, look into each other’s eyes, and take a moment to truly appreciate the love you share.

A private last dance also opens up the opportunity for some truly unforgettable photos. Your photographer can capture the magic of the moment, from the way you gaze into each other’s eyes to the way your dress twirls around you. These photos will be some of the most cherished ones from your wedding day.

Now, you might be wondering how a private last dance works in practice. Typically, it’s done at the end of the night, when all your guests have cleared out. You can choose a song (or songs) that are meaningful to you as a couple, and then have your DJ or band play it just for the two of you. You can dance in the middle of the dance floor, or in a quieter corner if you prefer.

In conclusion, a private last dance is a beautiful way to cap off your wedding day. It allows you to have a special moment with your partner, to reflect on the day, and to create some unforgettable memories. If you’re considering a private last dance, talk to your wedding planner or DJ to see how you can make it happen. It’s an incredibly special moment, and one you won’t regret making time for on your big day.

2024 Adventures by Disney Itineraries to Include Colombia, New Zealand & More

Adventures by Disney will visit exciting new destinations beginning in 2024.

We all know the song, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” but we definitely want to talk about the new adventures.

Colombia, the country that inspired the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Encanto,” is one of Adventures by Disney’s newest destinations! Beginning in 2024, guests can see the Academy Award-winning film come to life by set-jetting on this family-friendly itinerary to experience the cultures, cuisine and people that helped inspire the movie. Only Adventures by Disney can design a trip like this with sprinkles of magical moments throughout. Be sure to keep reading, because we have a special download just for you (hint, it’s original concept art from the film).

Image: Disney

Joining Colombia as a new 2024 Adventures by Disney destination is the Eastern Canada Maritime Provinces of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, plus an enhanced New Zealand itinerary full of outdoor experiences.

Let’s take a closer look at each 2024 Adventures by Disney destination to discover what we’ll see and experience.

Explore Colombia with Disney: Bogota, the Coffee Region, Cocora Valley and Cartagena

This eight-day, seven-night trip begins in the capital city of Bogota, and your exploration of this beautiful country begins at the Paloquemao Market where you’ll see a bounty of flowers and colorful fruits and vegetables. You’ll sample the unique fruits and learn about the healing properties of medicinal herbs. And speaking of food, you’ll also experience your first hands-on activity learning how to make arepas like Mirabel’s mom, Julieta, made for her family. After that, you’ll tour the stunning Gold Museum, which houses more than 34,000 pieces of pre-Hispanic gold.

Next, you’ll visit a fourth-generation coffee farm in the Coffee Region. During this privately guided experience, you will learn about harvesting and roasting the beans, as well as brewing the perfect cup of coffee. In “Encanto,” you can spot towering wax palms surrounding the Madrigal home, Casita, and in the Cocora Valley within the Coffee Region, you’ll spot these majestic palms all around this area. Next, you’ll visit Salento and learn to play tejo, Colombia’s national sport. Did you know you also see this played in “Encanto”? During the musical scene, “The Family Madrigal” when Mirabel is walking through the village, keep a keen eye and you will catch it briefly in the background.

Your journey continues to the beautiful Caribbean coast and Cartagena. If you share a love for animals like Antonio does in the film, you’ll be excited to learn that here you’ll experience a private interactive visit with the Proyecto Titi Foundation where you’ll learn about the cotton-top tamarin, trek through the dry forest to see these creatures in their natural habitat and discover how the Disney Conservation Fund sponsors the organization. You’ll even help a local farmer plant some of the tamarin’s favorite foods!

Also in Cartagena, you’ll enjoy a walking tour of the Getsemani Neighborhood, known for its colorful murals and buildings, and you’ll visit the San Felipe de Barejas Fort, one of the largest Spanish colonial fortresses and an engineering marvel that long ago protected the city from pirates. A visit to Cartagena’s beautiful Rosario Islands caps off your vacation. The Rosario Islands are a collection of 27 islands and home to more than 1,300 species of marine animals and plants. Not only will you see this beautiful underwater landscape, but adventure seekers can snorkel through the shallow reefs.

Colombia: The Destination That Inspired Disney Animation’s “Encanto”

When filmmakers Byron Howard and Jared Bush traveled to Colombia in the spring of 2018, their quest was to find inspiration for the story, world and characters of their new film, which would become “Encanto.” They visited the Cocora Valley and saw the towering wax palm trees and butterflies. They ate delicious food, including arepas, and they played tejo, the national sport of Colombia. Walking through the streets of Cartagena they saw colorful architecture and fabrics, and the idea for the “coffee kid” came to life in the Coffee Region.

On the Adventures by Disney Colombia trip, adventurers will have similar experiences and more.

  • Similar to the Madrigals, make arepas like Julieta prepared for her family, eat delicious meals and play tejo. Visitors will also tour a Colombian coffee farm in the Coffee Region, drink coffee and learn how to brew a perfect cup.
  • Learn about the conservation of cotton-top tamarins on a trek through the dry forest near Proyecto Titi, a project supported by the Disney Conservation Fund. It was Colombia’s rich biodiversity that inspired the magical ability of the “Encanto” character Antonio, who has the power to communicate with animals.
  • Privately guided tours in Bogota will take us through the colorful Paloquemao Market to taste the wide variety of locally-grown fruits and admire the colonial architecture of the historic city center – La Candelaria.
  • Adventure-seekers can snorkel among the Rosario Islands, a collection of 27 islands home to more than 1,300 species of marine animals, vibrantly colored fish and plants.

“Every Disney Animation film begins with research, and the trip we took to Colombia as we were developing ‘Encanto’ with Lin-Manuel Miranda immediately brought the story of this magical place and our wondrous Madrigal family to life,” said Howard and Bush. “Colombia is a crossroads of Latin America, and what we learned about family, tradition, music, food and dance were central to the development of the film. Our hope was always that ‘Encanto’ could celebrate just some of the many different people and cultures we experienced in Colombia – we are thrilled and touched that so many people have felt seen by the Madrigals’ story and now have this opportunity to experience its magic for themselves.”

Special “Encanto” Visual Development Artwork from Lorelay Bové

Each travel party booked during the inaugural 2024 Adventures by Disney Colombia season will receive a signed lithograph of never-before-released artwork from Walt Disney Animation Studios. This piece of visual development artwork by “Encanto” Associate Production Designer Lorelay Bové set the early concept for the new door to Casa Madrigal that would be revealed at the end of the film – a symbol of the new miracle that Mirabel and her family create together through honesty and love. Bové’s work includes such Walt Disney Animation Studios films as “The Princess and the Frog,” “Tangled,” “Zootopia,” “Big Hero 6” and more.

2024 Adventures by Disney is opening new doors, creating even more ways for families to discover a different kind of magic: the magic of the world around them.

Eastern Canada Maritimes: Scenic Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island

Next in 2024 Adventures by Disney will travel north to the beauty of eastern Canada’s Atlantic Coast, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Outdoor activities and cultural immersion are the stars of this itinerary, and it’s a great opportunity for families to take in the sights, sounds and activities on the rivers, beaches, ocean coasts and gulfs. As with every Adventures by Disney trip, our Disney-trained Adventures Guides lead every step of the way and take care of all the details, ensuring a fun-filled, hassle-free vacation. Here are just a few examples of how you’d spend your days on this trip.

  • Touring an authentic maple syrup farm in Nova Scotia to learn about the process that brings syrup from tree to table, and of course, sampling this delicious treat.
  • Exploring the outdoors at amazing locations such as the 150-year-old Wood Island Lighthouse, where Junior Adventurers will enjoy making and flying kites along the shore. Other adventures include walking on the low-tide ocean floor at the Bay of Fundy, enjoying an onboard fisherman’s feast, riding horses, listening to live Celtic music during a traditional ceilidh (social gathering), biking, canoeing and kayaking.
  • Enjoying tea with a descendent of author Lucy Maud Montgomery’s family at the Anne of Green Gables Museum, and visiting Avonlea Village, the fictitious community central to the Anne of Green Gables stories.
  • Learning about the indigenous Mi’kmaq Peoples during a visit to the Millbrook Cultural Heritage Centre.

New Zealand: An Enhanced Outdoor Adventure

While traversing New Zealand from north to south, we’ll see stunning scenery at every turn, from the beaches and tropical rainforests to visiting vibrant cities and small towns. We’ll even participate in an authentic meal indigenous to the country! On this itinerary we can look forward to:

  • Participating in the exciting America’s Cup Experience in Auckland, the “City of Sails.”
  • Sharing an authentic Hangi dinner with a local family to experience the indigenous Maori culture.
  • Marveling at thousands of glow worms illuminating an underground cave among limestone formations.
  • Touring the National Kiwi Hatchery, a facility renowned for its kiwi bird conservation program.
  • Gazing at the dramatic geysers that dot the landscape at Te Puia Geothermal Park, including the largest active geyser in the Southern Hemisphere.
  • Traveling via the TranzAlpine Train upwards into the Southern Alps.

What’s it like to travel with Adventures by Disney?

As with all Adventures by Disney vacations, our Disney-trained Adventure Guides take care of the details, including activities for Junior Adventurers (younger guests), so everyone in the family can enjoy a hassle-free vacation from the moment you arrive at your destination. Upon your arrival, transportation is waiting to take you to the hotel, and throughout your trip meals are planned, logistics are taken care of, even snacks are provided for longer legs of the excursions. • Monteverde is known for its commitment to sustainability and eco-tourism. You can indulge in eco-friendly activities that have minimal environmental impact.

Monteverde also has a vibrant local culture. Couples can visit the Monteverde Cheese Factory to learn about the region’s dairy traditions, explore the charming town of Santa Elena, and interact with the friendly locals proud of their community.

More Reasons to Choose Costa Rica As Your Honeymoon Destination

Costa Rica is recognized as one of the happiest countries in the world according to the Gallup World Index and the Happy Planet Index in 2011, 2012, and 2013. The country’s high levels of joy, health, and longevity are closely associated with the concept of wellness, which plays a significant role in determining happiness.

You can find wellness in a wide range of activities.

Animal Sightings

True happiness can be experienced in the Monteverde cloud forest, where small groups can embark on canopy bridge tours and enjoy a breathtaking aerial view of the national park.

The rainforests of Costa Rica are home to more than 900 different bird species and a diverse array of monkeys and sloths, making animal sightings an assured experience and an opportunity for relaxation. It also helps reduce stress levels, allowing visitors to
enhance their overall sense of well-being.

Wellness Through Yoga and Meditation

Finding wellness through yoga has become quite popular in Costa Rica. You can relax
the mind and body through yoga sessions in Puerto Viejo’s Caribbean surroundings.
Rustic, open-air studios in the Playa Cocles village integrate into the Zen experience,
which allows vacationing yoga enthusiasts to have a relaxing time.

The Southern Pacific region of the country is establishing a leadership role in promoting wellness activities. Surf camps and yoga teaching centers provide accommodations, allowing enthusiasts to improve their hobbies. These havens, surrounded by organic community gardens, offer a comprehensive wellness experience, especially for those who visit Quepos, Uvita, Dominical, or Ojochal.

The options include enjoying guided meditations near waterfalls in Bajos del Toro,
indulging in a soothing massage at luxurious resorts, and snorkeling alongside the
diverse marine life in Cahuita National Park’s coral reef.

Wellness Through Food

Food also plays an integral part in the wellness journey. Costa Ricans are experts in
creating delectable meals using the freshest ingredients, adhering to the farm-to-table
trend.

The local Central Market in San José offers a way to connect with the earth with a
vibrant assortment of locally grown fruits and vegetables. The weekend farmers’
markets throughout the country offer seasonal items. Local sodas (small takeout stands) offer daily menus that change every day to showcase the distinct flavors of
each region.

It’s easy to see why Costa Rica continues its reign as one of the world’s top honeymoon destinations. The nation is abundant with unique encounters, thanks to its extensive offerings of natural marvels and verdant landscapes. The landscapes are exquisite and the natural beauty will take your breath away.

Truly, Costa Rica possesses a treasure trove of coveted experiences for honeymooners, but with that said, it’s important to select an area that meets your needs and dreams for your perfect honeymoon.

Ultimate Honeymoon Planning Guide: 8 Things You Need to Know for the Perfect Honeymoon

Congratulations on your engagement! You found The One, got engaged, and are in the midst of planning your magical wedding & honeymoon. YAY!

Many couples don’t know all the ins and outs of planning a great honeymoon! If you’re like most people, you probably have this idea, that you’ll just find a resort somewhere in a beautiful location, book it, get married, and head off to honeymoon bliss! But, as you start planning your honeymoon, it can be stressful and overwhelming trying to plan a honeymoon that gives you EXACTLY what you want! There is a lot of planning that comes into play to make sure you have a honeymoon full of relaxation & romance, instead of disappointment and frustration. There’s so much to consider, from which destination to choose, the best resort to stay at, as well as choosing an air itinerary that won’t have you checking in late at night, losing the entire first day of your honeymoon to travel!

This honeymoon planning guide is exactly what you need to have a honeymoon that will truly be fabulous! These 8 steps will help you put all of the pieces together for a relaxing and pampering honeymoon in paradise.

Ultimate Honeymoon Planning Guide: 8 Things You Need to Know for the Perfect Honeymoon

Ok, so let’s jump into these six honeymoon essentials!

1. Create a “Honeymoon Wish List”

Ultimate Honeymoon Planning Guide: 8 Things You Need to Know for the Perfect Honeymoon

Before you do any honeymoon planning, you and your future spouse need to
take some time to make a list together of what you both are hoping to get out of
your honeymoon. I call it a “honeymoon wishlist” Is gourmet food important to
you, do you prefer ala cart vs. buffet restaurants? Do you care more about
having a stunning honeymoon suite, or are you ok with the standard room? Are
you both wanting a beautiful long stretch of swimmable beach, or are pools
more important to you? What type of excursions would you like to enjoy? You
will want to have at least some of these settled before you start researching
destinations and resorts.

2. Don’t Base Your Decisions Solely on Recommendations

Ultimate Honeymoon Planning Guide: 8 Things You Need to Know for the Perfect Honeymoon

Recommendations are great, but you have to remember that you are a completely different couple than they are. What is great for one couple, may not be great for you! Your honeymoon is pretty important, you don’t want to take a chance on having an underwhelming or poor experience. It’s fine to take a recommendation, but use it as a starting point, not your end point. And PLEASE, don’t go to Trip Advisor until you’ve narrowed your selection of honeymoon resorts down to two or three options!

3. Do This Instead

Ultimate Honeymoon Planning Guide: 8 Things You Need to Know for the Perfect Honeymoon

Remember that list I told you to create in point number 1? Once you have that
list made, you’ll want to start thinking about past travel experiences, both good
and bad… What did you like or love about a trip you took, or what did you dislike
or hate, about a past vacation or getaway? Add these to your “honeymoon wish
list”. Now you will be ready to move on to point number 4.

4. Make a List of Potential Honeymoon Destinations

Ultimate Honeymoon Planning Guide: 8 Things You Need to Know for the Perfect Honeymoon

Now it’s time to start making a list of potential honeymoon destinations! Use
your honeymoon wish list to help you narrow down destinations that offer what
is on your list, then make a list of potential honeymoon resorts.

5. Research Possible Honeymoon Resorts in Your Targeted Destinations

Ultimate Honeymoon Planning Guide: 8 Things You Need to Know for the Perfect Honeymoon

Once you have a couple of honeymoon locations chosen, then it’s time to figure out which resort to have your ceremony and host your group. One of the most effective ways to choose a wedding resort & venue is to visit it first before you decide. In fact, many resorts offer special “wedding visit” packages to encourage you to visit their resort hoping you will choose them for your destination wedding.

6. Get a New Email Exclusively for Wedding Related Conversations

Ultimate Honeymoon Planning Guide: 8 Things You Need to Know for the Perfect Honeymoon

This is a great way to stay organized and not miss any type of important communication about your honeymoon. I always suggest that you create a special email address exclusively for your wedding & honeymoon. This way all of your wedding correspondence & conversations will be in one spot! Believe me, this will save you so much time and probably money in the end. The last thing you want is to miss a confirmation email that your honeymoon resort suite is almost sold out, booking because it was sandwiched between emails from Beach Body & your Grandmother’s cataract surgery!

7. Consider Getting a New Credit Card that Earns Miles

Ultimate Honeymoon Planning Guide: 8 Things You Need to Know for the Perfect Honeymoon

As long as you are going to be charging your wedding expenses, you might as well earn some reward miles to help you pay for your honeymoon, or at least pay you back for booking your honeymoon. This is a great time to open a new credit card that will earn you miles or points for future or even current travel. You could actually get a discount on your airfare if you play your credit cards right!

8. Consider Working with a Honeymoon Specialist

Ultimate Honeymoon Planning Guide: 8 Things You Need to Know for the Perfect Honeymoon

If you want to ensure that your honeymoon won’t be a disappointment, as well as, reduce the stress and frustration you may feel when trying to plan this all on your own, it may be worth it to invest in hiring a honeymoon planner. A properly trained honeymoon specialist knows how to take your honeymoon wishlist, and quickly narrow down destinations & honeymoon resorts, that will be perfect for both of you! They will also make sure that you receive ALL the honeymoon amenities & perks you will qualify for as well.

Ultimate Honeymoon Planning Guide: 8 Things You Need to Know for the Perfect Honeymoon

At the end of the day, you want your honeymoon to be your reward after
all of the stress, and time you spent planning your wedding. It should be a fabulous time of FINALLY getting away, just the two of you, where you can relax, be pampered and just focus on each other.
