The Ultimate Guide to Dole Whip at Disney World: Every Location, Every Flavor, Every Secret Worth Knowing

If there is one food at Walt Disney World that has achieved the status of genuine legend, it is the Dole Whip. The Dole Whip is a treat so beloved, so associated with the Disney experience, and so deeply embedded in the culture of Disney fandom that guests plan their park days around finding it.

This iconic pineapple soft-serve has been delighting Disney guests since its introduction at Magic Kingdom in 1984, and in the four decades since, it has become so synonymous with the Disney World experience that many guests consider it a non-negotiable part of any visit and with good reason. Cold, creamy, refreshingly tart, and completely unlike any other soft-serve you’ve tasted, the Dole Whip is one of those small, perfect pleasures that makes a Disney World vacation feel complete.

What most guests don’t realize until they’ve made a few trips (or until they have a travel advisor who knows the parks inside and out) is just how many Dole Whip options, variations, and locations exist across Walt Disney World. This is not simply a soft-serve cone at one stand in Magic Kingdom. It is an entire universe of flavors, specialty creations, adult beverages, and unexpected combinations spread across all four theme parks, Disney Springs, two water parks, and multiple Disney resort hotels.

This complete guide to Dole Whip at Disney World covers every location, every flavor, every specialty creation, and every insider tip worth knowing so you arrive prepared to find exactly the Dole Whip experience that’s right for you.

What Exactly Is a Dole Whip?

For the uninitiated, or for those planning their first Disney World visit and wondering what all the fuss is about, here’s a quick primer.

Dole Whip is a soft-serve frozen dessert made with pineapple-flavored mix, originally created in partnership between Disney and the Dole Food Company. The original and most iconic flavor is pineapple, a bright, intensely tropical flavor with a creamy texture that is simultaneously rich and refreshing in a way that feels perfectly suited to Florida’s warm weather. The classic presentation is a swirl in a cup or cone, but it can also be served as a float with pineapple juice, creating a layered drink-and-dessert hybrid that is arguably even more extraordinary than the soft-serve alone.

Over the years, the Dole Whip universe has expanded dramatically. Orange, strawberry, lime, lemon, watermelon, peach, cherry, and coconut flavors have all appeared at various locations. Specialty creations like sundaes, floats, alcoholic beverages, and seasonal offerings have multiplied across the resort. And the simple question of “where do I get a Dole Whip?” has become one of the most pleasantly complex questions in all of Disney World planning.

Here is the complete answer.

Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is where the Dole Whip story begins, and it remains the park with the greatest variety of Dole Whip experiences. You can find the Dole Whip spread across four distinct locations in the park, each with its own personality and unique offerings.

Aloha Isle Refreshments
Tucked into Adventureland just steps from the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Aloha Isle is the original and most iconic Dole Whip location in all of Walt Disney World. This is the destination most guests have in mind when they think “Dole Whip at Disney World,” and it delivers the classic experience in its purest form. The lines here can be significant during peak periods and they are always worth it.

Available at Aloha Isle: classic Dole Whip, Dole Whip and Coconut Swirl, the legendary Dole Whip Float (Dole Pineapple Juice with your choice of Dole Whip, vanilla soft-serve, or swirl), and the extraordinary Pineapple Upside-Down Cake served with Dole Whip, vanilla soft-serve, or swirl.

Insider tip: The Dole Whip Float is the move at Aloha Isle. The combination of the cold pineapple juice and the soft-serve creates a flavor and texture experience that is genuinely different from, and in many people’s opinion superior to, the soft-serve alone. Order the swirl for the visual effect and the combination of both flavors in every sip.

Sunshine Tree Terrace
Located in Adventureland just beside the Swiss Family Treehouse, Sunshine Tree Terrace is home to one of the most beloved Disney characters you might not expect to find at a snack stand: the Orange Bird, a charming vintage Disney character who serves as the unofficial mascot of this location. The offerings here skew citrus, making it a wonderful complement to the pineapple focus of Aloha Isle.

Image: Disney

Available at Sunshine Tree Terrace: Dole Whip Orange (available with vanilla soft-serve swirl), Dole Whip Strawberry, the spectacular I Lava You Float (Fanta Strawberry and passion fruit flavor with Dole Whip Orange topped with popping candy), and the Dole Whip Float (your choice of Dole Whip flavor and vanilla or chocolate soft-serve with assorted beverages).

Insider tip: The I Lava You Float is one of the most visually stunning and flavor-complex Dole Whip creations at Magic Kingdom. The popping candy adds a sensory surprise that makes it particularly fun for children and secretly delightful for adults. Don’t skip it.

Skipper Canteen
The beloved Jungle Skipper Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen is one of Magic Kingdom’s most personality-rich dining experiences. It also offers a single, but extraordinary Dole Whip creation that justifies the stop on its own.

Available: The Enchanted Orange Dream is Dole Whip Orange blended with vanilla soft-serve and served with an orange candy rim. This is a blended, milkshake-adjacent creation that is completely different in texture from the standard soft-serve and deeply, unexpectedly delicious. The orange candy rim adds both visual appeal and a concentrated burst of citrus flavor that ties the whole thing together.

Storybook Treats
Located in Fantasyland, Storybook Treats offers some of the most creative and artistically beautiful Dole Whip presentations anywhere in the resort. Many of these are inspired by beloved Disney princesses and characters.

Available: The Rapunzel Sundae (shortcake with Dole Whip lemon and wild berry soft-serve topped with berry compote and sugar flowers) and the Aurora Cone (Dole Whip strawberry and blue soft-serve topped with white chocolate crispy pearls in a sugar cone). Both are as beautiful as they are delicious, and both photograph magnificently.

Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies
Tomorrowland’s contribution to the Dole Whip universe skews galactic and lime-forward. It’s a fun, slightly unexpected direction that produces some genuinely wonderful creations.

Image: Disney

Available: The Space Ranger Float (Dole Whip Lime and vanilla soft-serve swirl, Sprite, green apple pearls, sprinkles, and a chocolate piece) and the Cherry Limeade Float (Dole Whip Lime with Sprite, grenadine, and a cherry). Both are wonderfully refreshing and distinctly different from anything available elsewhere in Magic Kingdom.

Dole Whip at EPCOT

EPCOT’s Dole Whip presence is more focused than Magic Kingdom’s expansive lineup, but the location more than compensates for the reduced variety.

Image: Disney

Refreshment Outpost
Positioned between the China and Germany pavilions in World Showcase with stunning views of the World Showcase Lagoon, Spaceship Earth, and the surrounding international pavilions, Refreshment Outpost offers arguably the most scenically beautiful setting of any Dole Whip location in the resort. Sitting on the water with a classic Dole Whip and watching the lagoon reflect the afternoon light is one of those quietly perfect Disney World moments that doesn’t appear in anyone’s highlight reel but is remembered for years.

Available: Dole Whip in pineapple or cherry.

Insider tip: The cherry Dole Whip at Refreshment Outpost is not available at Aloha Isle or most other locations which makes this a genuine exclusive worth seeking out for flavor adventurers.

Dole Whip at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom’s Dole Whip situation is genuinely extraordinary and features some of the most adventurous and unexpected offerings in the entire resort, including the adults only, rum-enhanced Dole Whip options available in the parks.

Tamu Tamu Refreshments
Located in Africa near Kilimanjaro Safaris, Tamu Tamu is the Dole Whip destination for guests who want the broadest possible range of options including several that are unavailable anywhere else in Walt Disney World.

Image: Disney

Available: Dole Whip Cup in pineapple, orange, or swirl; Dole Whip Pineapple Juice Float; Dole Whip Pineapple and Orange Soda Float (with Fanta Orange and strawberry syrup); Dole Whip with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum; Dole Whip Pineapple Juice Float with Rum (Dole Pineapple Juice and Parrot Bay Coconut Rum topped with Dole Whip); and Dole Whip Float with Sangria (Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz topped with Dole Whip).

Insider tip: The Dole Whip Float with Sangria is one of the most sophisticated and genuinely delicious adult Dole Whip creations at Disney World. The combination of sweet red wine and tart pineapple soft-serve is far better than it sounds on paper and is a wonderful treat for adults looking for something beyond the standard offering.

Warung Outpost
Located in Asia near the Feathered Friends in Flight! show, Warung Outpost offers a more focused Dole Whip menu with one standout creation that is among the most visually striking in the entire resort.

Available: Dole Whip, Dole Whip Pineapple Juice Float (also available with Myers’s Original Dark Rum), and the Rafiki Wildberry and Dole Whip Orange Float which is Dole Whip Orange swirled into Fanta Orange with wildberry syrup, topped with a white chocolate character medallion featuring Rafiki. The character medallion makes this one of the most photogenic Dole Whip creations at Animal Kingdom.

Dole Whip at Disney Springs

Disney Springs is accessible without a park ticket, making it an excellent destination for Dole Whip on days between park visits and it offers some of the most creative and unexpected Dole Whip presentations in the entire resort.

Swirls on the Water
Perched on the bridge over Lake Buena Vista, Swirls on the Water combines some of the most creative Dole Whip presentations in the resort with one of the most beautiful viewing locations available anywhere at Walt Disney World. Watching the boats move across the lake while enjoying a specialty Dole Whip creation is a genuinely lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Available: Dole Whip in pineapple, orange, or strawberry; the Dole Whip Sampler (a trio of Dole Whip pineapple with coconut soft-serve, Dole Whip strawberry with cotton candy soft-serve, and Dole Whip orange with vanilla soft-serve and chocolate sauce); the Waffle Bowl Sundae (Dole Whip orange with vanilla soft-serve, chocolate sauce, and whipped topping); and the spectacular Strawberry Cotton Candy Cone (Dole Whip strawberry with blue cotton candy soft-serve, white sprinkle rim, and red velvet cone).

Insider tip: The Dole Whip Sampler is the perfect option for guests who are undecided or who want to compare flavors across a single visit. Getting three distinct presentations in one order is wonderful value and creates a genuine tasting experience.

Wine Bar George
For guests who want a genuinely sophisticated adult Dole Whip experience, Wine Bar George in The Landing offers two cocktail creations that elevate the iconic treat into proper bar territory.

Image: Disney

Available: A Frozen Old Fashioned made with Dole Whip Orange and a Frozcato made with Dole Whip. Both pair the bright tropical flavor of Dole Whip with quality spirits and are served in a beautifully designed, atmosphere-rich restaurant setting that is completely unlike any other Dole Whip experience at Walt Disney World.

Dole Whip at Disney Resort Hotels

For guests staying at select Walt Disney World resort hotels, or guests with dining reservations at resort restaurants, additional and sometimes exclusive Dole Whip experiences are available that many visitors never discover.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
The Polynesian Village Resort is the undisputed Dole Whip capital of the Disney resort hotels. It offers more Dole Whip locations and more creative variations than any other hotel on property, in a setting of lush Hawaiian-inspired beauty that perfectly complements the tropical character of the treat.

Pineapple Lanai is the resort’s signature Dole Whip destination, located just outside the Ceremonial House with views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Cinderella Castle in the distance. Available: classic Dole Whip, vanilla soft-serve, or swirl; Pineapple Float; Dole Whip with Rum Floater (Dole Whip with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum); and the Dole Whip Peach with Streusel Crisp (a limited-time offering featuring Dole Whip peach, peaches, and streusel in a waffle cup).

Barefoot Pool Bar and Oasis Bar & Grill offers two spirited Dole Whip options for guests relaxing by the pool: the Frozen Margarita with Dole Whip Lime (Corazón Blanco Tequila blended with Dole Whip Lime and chili-lime seasoning) and the Frosty Pineapple (Dole Whip with Captain Morgan Private Stock Rum).

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is one of the most beloved and uniquely atmospheric bars at Walt Disney World and is also home to the legendary Spikey Pineapple: Cruzan Mango Rum blended with Dole Whip. Trader Sam’s interactive drink experiences and extraordinary ambiance make this one of the most memorable settings in which to enjoy a Dole Whip-based creation anywhere on property.

Kona Island offers the Pineapple Cupcake which is a vanilla cupcake topped with Dole Whip pineapple-flavored cheesecake and pineapple buttercream with chocolate. It’s a baked interpretation of the Dole Whip flavor profile that is completely unique in the resort.

Wailulu Bar & Grill, the resort’s newest restaurant, features a Dole Whip Sundae with hibiscus meringue and macerated pineapple and berries which is a refined, elegant Dole Whip presentation that reflects the restaurant’s sophisticated tropical identity.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas offers the Captain’s Seaside Sensation which is a Dole Whip smoothie with Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum. You can enjoy this in the beautiful Crescent Lake boardwalk setting that makes Disney’s BoardWalk one of the most charming resort destinations on property.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Centertown Market at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort offers a classic Dole Whip Cup which is a straightforward, accessible option for guests staying at this beloved moderate resort who want to enjoy the iconic treat without traveling to a theme park.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar offers a Dole Whip Smoothie which is a blended interpretation of the classic that is particularly refreshing after a day in the Florida sun.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort
Good’s Food to Go offers a uniquely Florida-inspired Dole Whip creation: Dole Whip Key Lime and Vanilla Soft-serve Swirl topped with graham cracker crumbs which is a Keys-inspired variation that is both distinctly regional and genuinely delicious.

Dole Whip at Disney’s Water Parks

Both of Walt Disney World’s water parks offer Dole Whip experiences that are perfectly calibrated for a day of sun, water, and relaxation, including some of the most creative and indulgent presentations available anywhere in the resort.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
Snack Shack is home to the extraordinary Dole Whip Bathtub Sundae which is Dole Whip pineapple, strawberry, and orange served together in a massive presentation that is both visually spectacular and plant-based. The Dole Whip Watermelon with chamoy and chili-lime spice is a genuinely surprising and wonderful combination that has become one of the most talked-about specialty Dole Whip offerings in the resort.

Leaning Palms offers classic floats, including the Dole Whip Pineapple Float and Dole Whip Orange Float, in a casual, accessible format perfect for grabbing between water attractions.

Happy Landings Ice Cream is home to the Pineapple Upside-Down Cone which is Dole Whip and vanilla soft-serve with caramel sauce, vanilla cake, caramelized pineapple, and a cherry served under a white chocolate-dipped cone. This is one of the most elaborate single Dole Whip presentations in the entire resort and is as beautiful as it is delicious.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach
I.C. Expeditions offers Dole Whip Strawberry alongside the only Dole Whip-based Strawberry Shortcake at Walt Disney World which features vanilla cake, strawberry purée, and Dole Whip strawberry and vanilla swirl topped with whipped cream and a cherry.

Lottawatta Lodge features the limited-time Dole Whip Peach and the extraordinary Dole Whip Peach Streusel Cobbler Sundae which is Dole Whip peach with vanilla cake, peach fruit filling, and streusel. It’s one of the most indulgent and unexpected Dole Whip presentations available anywhere in the resort.

Polar Patios features the show-stopping Baked Alaska which is ice cream cake with vanilla cake, vanilla ice cream, Dole Whip, buttercream, meringue, strawberry, gold leaf, and viola flowers. This is the most elaborate Dole Whip creation at either water park and one of the most extraordinary presentations in the entire resort.

Insider Tips for Getting the Most Out of Dole Whip at Disney World

Visit Aloha Isle early or late. The line at Aloha Isle in Adventureland can be significant during peak afternoon hours. Visiting in the morning or in the evening, especially during the hour before park closing, typically means shorter waits and the same magical soft-serve. You can even take your treat into Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room to enjoy during the show and cool off from the heat.

Try flavors you wouldn’t expect. The pineapple is iconic for a reason, but the cherry at EPCOT’s Refreshment Outpost, the lime at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies, the peach at select seasonal locations, and the watermelon at Typhoon Lagoon all offer genuinely wonderful experiences that most guests never discover.

Order the float. At any location that offers it, the Dole Whip Float, soft-serve suspended in cold pineapple juice, is a step up from the soft-serve alone in both flavor complexity and refreshment. It is consistently ranked by experienced Disney guests as the superior presentation.

Visit Trader Sam’s for the experience, not just the Dole Whip. The Spikey Pineapple at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is extraordinary, but the ambiance, the interactive drink experiences, and the overall atmosphere of this legendary Polynesian lounge make this one of the most memorable Disney resort experiences available to guests, Dole Whip or not.

Check for seasonal offerings. Dole Whip Peach, limited-time flavors, and seasonal specialty creations appear and disappear throughout the year. Checking the current offerings before your visit or asking your travel advisor for the latest ensures you don’t miss something extraordinary that’s only available for a limited time.

The Dole Whip Sampler at Swirls on the Water is the perfect introduction. For first-time guests who want to understand the full flavor range of the Dole Whip universe before committing to a single option, the Sampler at Disney Springs gives you three distinct flavor experiences in one order.

Why This All Matters for Your Disney World Planning

The Dole Whip is many things. It’s a delicious treat, a Disney icon, and a refreshing relief from Florida’s sun, but it is also a perfect illustration of something I tell every client I help plan a Disney World vacation for: the details matter, and knowing about them in advance makes the entire experience richer.

Most guests who visit Walt Disney World for the first time get one Dole Whip, usually at Aloha Isle, usually the classic pineapple, and usually only because someone told them to find it. Guests who arrive knowing about the Rafiki Float at Animal Kingdom, the Baked Alaska at Blizzard Beach, the Frozen Old Fashioned at Wine Bar George, and the Spikey Pineapple at Trader Sam’s have a fundamentally different and deeper experience of the resort.

That is what working with a Disney specialist travel advisor provides. Not just the resort booking and the park tickets, but the depth of knowledge that turns a good Disney vacation into an extraordinary one. The Dole Whip locations are a small but delightful example of a much broader principle: every detail of Disney World rewards the guest who came prepared.

If a Disney World vacation is on your family’s horizon, whether for the first time or as a return to a place that already holds a special place in your hearts, I would love to help you plan every magical detail.

Five Best Snacks at Disney World

Walt Disney World Resort has so many delicious dining options, from elegant multi-course meals at fine dining establishments to tasty snacks and treats. No matter what your taste buds prefer, there is something for everyone to enjoy at Disney World! It is so hard to pick just my top five, but these are, in my opinion, the best snacks at Disney World.

WDW-Cupcakes

  1. Dole Whip Float: The Dole Whip (pineapple ice cream) only gets better when you add fresh Dole pineapple juice. This treat can only be found at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Magic Kingdom Park so be sure to stop when you have the chance.
  2. Plaza Ice Cream Sundae: There are a number of ice cream flavors to choose from here such as vanilla, chocolate, birthday cake, mint chocolate chip, and more. You can then choose your sundae toppings and even have it served in a freshly made waffle bowl. This is a great treat to enjoy during Festival of Fantasy parade, Main Street Electrical Parade, or Wishes.
  3. Cupcakes: You can get cupcakes from a variety of locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort, but my favorite is Starring Rolls at Hollywood Studios. They often have limited time offerings (seasonal), but always have some “staples” like the Butterfinger cupcake or the Red Velvet cupcake.
  4. Caramel Corn: You can get warm, fresh caramel corn from Karamel Kuche inside the Germany pavilion at Epcot. Even if you aren’t a fan of caramel, I highly recommend stopping in for the free smells.
  5. Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich: Most people love the Mickey Ice Cream Bar, but another great treat is the Mickey ice cream sandwich which has cookies and cream ice cream filled between two soft chocolate cookies.
