8 Gingerbread Displays at Disney World for the 2019 Holiday Season

We love the holiday season at Disney World! And, as always, Disney’s pastry chefs have outdone themselves! With displays at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, as well as Aulani and aboard each Disney Cruise Line ship, there are dazzling gingerbread displays wherever you go! Here’s all the info you need to know on this year’s eight holiday gingerbread displays at Disney World, from finding your favorite displays to purchasing holiday sweets. And be sure to look out for some exclusive merchandise, including limited edition pins, ornaments, mugs, headbands and more themed to each of the displays, which can be found at the merchandise shops in each resort’s lobby while supplies last.

Walt Disney World Resort – Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Gingerbread Display

New this year is a gingerbread display at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Escape to the rustic majesty of America’s Great Northwest! This gingerbread cabin is inspired by the turn-of-the-century National Park lodges and even features a familiar bear named Humphrey hanging out right in front of the display. Set inside the lobby, the cabin is nestled beside a murmuring creek among the resort’s towering totem poles right next to a stone hearth fireplace and the majestic seven-story Christmas tree. If you look closely, you might just find a few hidden Mickeys!

Walt Disney World Resort – Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Gingerbread Display

Another new display this year comes to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Here you’ll find a holiday village themed to the Saratoga Springs, New York complete with a carousel in the park. You’ll also be able to purchase sugar cookies and gingerbread man cookies!

Walt Disney World Resort – Disney Springs Gingerbread Display

Located in the popular Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs, this storefront display depicts a miniature version of the pastry shop and a miniature kitchen. This adorable gingerbread house will be on display starting Nov. 25, 2018, and will be up through the end of December. And when you stop by the shop to see it for yourself, you can indulge in one of the many holiday offerings available:

Walt Disney World Resort – Disney’s Contemporary Resort Gingerbread Castle

For the 10^th Anniversary of Disney’s Contemporary Resort Gingerbread Display, Cinderella and Prince Charming greet guests as they come to visit the fanciful gingerbread castle set on an “it’s a small world” backdrop. This 18-foot tall display is located on the 4^th floor concourse of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The castle is crafted from thousands of gingerbread blocks, rolled fondant, and modeling chocolate and features a rolled fondant Fairy Godmother and a display box featuring Cinderella’s glass slipper. The display will be up through January 5, 2020. Be sure to come by and see it, and try to find the nine hidden Mickeys and ten images highlighting ‘it’s a small world’ and ‘Frozen 2’ to celebrate the 10^th Anniversary! As a tribute to Mary Blair, you might even see the famous five-legged goat! And available for purchase at the Gingerbread Hut nearby are holiday sweets such as:

This life-sized spinning carousel is celebrating its 20^th anniversary this year in the lobby of Disney’s Beach Club Resort. The display features Peter Pan-themed carousel horses decorated with hand-crafted chocolate, sugar, and fondant as well as hand-crafted gingerbread shingles and snowflakes. Walt Disney World Resort – The American Adventure Gingerbread Display at Epcot

This patriotic gingerbread display features the United States Capitol Building as well as the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, and a seven-foot gingerbread Washington Monument topped with golden Mickey ears. Located in The American Adventure at Epcot, the display contains six hidden Mickeys and is made with over 50 pounds of gingerbread and 20 pounds of icing! You can visit this display throughout the holiday season at Epcot starting on Nov. 29.

Holiday Kitchen Menus for the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays

The 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays Presented by AdventHealth returns to the park on Friday, November 29! Celebrating joyous holiday traditions from around the globe, this year’s festival runs from November 29 through December 30, 2019 and features a variety of yuletide decorations, flavors, family-friendly activities, and of course, the wondrous “Candlelight Processional.”

In addition to enjoying the stirring retelling of the Christmas story as told by a celebrity narrator accompanied by a choir and a 50-piece orchestra, special dining packages are also available for this experience every night throughout the festival. The Candlelight Dining Package allows you to enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner with guaranteed seating that night during the show. These reservations fill up fast, so be sure to make yours today via the My Disney Experience mobile app or by visiting the Walt Disney World Resort website.

The official Holiday Cookie Stroll is also returning this year with yummy cookies galore! Purchase any five cookies from any of the official cookie stroll locations noted in your Passport, making sure to collect a matching stamp for each cookie purchased. Once you’ve collected 5 stamps, bring the stamped Passport to Holiday Sweets & Treats for a complimentary completer cookie! How fun is that? This activity is great for the kids, and can be completed at your own leisure. You can even bring back your stamped Passport to Epcot at any time during the festival to complete your stroll. Sanaa is one of the most popular restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort, known for its incredible bread service, African-inspired cuisine and, of course, its incredible views of the lush Sunset Savannah. It is here that you can sit back and enjoy a delectable meal while taking in the spectacular views of African wildlife right outside the windows of the restaurant. With animals including gazelle, zebras, kudu, giraffes, ostriches, cranes, and more, they’re sure to make your meal a memorable experience.

The restaurant currently offers wonderful table-service dining for both lunch and dinner, but did you know that Sanaa now features a delicious breakfast menu? Recently, the talented chefs at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge created the Sanaa Kuamsha Breakfast – served from 7:00am to 10:00am – for those guests looking for an early-morning meal. Highlighting a variety of different flavors inspired by authentic African cuisine, this new dining experience transforms Sanaa into a casual quick-service restaurant featuring grab-and-go options as well as a few familiar dishes with a unique twist that you can only find at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

When you approach the counter, you’ll be greeted with a variety of grab-and-go items including yogurt parfaits, fruit plates, banana bread with house-made African chocolate-hazelnut spread, and more. And if you’re looking for a heartier, sit-down dining experience, you can browse a full menu of entrees which can be ordered at the counter and brought directly to your table!

On the entrée menu, you’ll find several familiar dishes complemented with unique African flavors. These dishes include Eggs Benedict (with two brown poached eggs, farmer’s ham, spice route hollandaise, arugula, and berries), Shahi Tukra French Toast (with saffron-scented sultan raisins, whipped chai cream, and almonds), and the Methi Paratha Wrap, which features scrambled eggs, potatoes masala, gouda, chermoula, and papaya achar. And for a plant-based option, you can try the Enriching Grains and Fruit dish with mixed grains, seasonal fruit, South African rusk, and coconut milk yogurt.

The Boere Breakfast is another incredible plate with two cage-free eggs, African home fries, house-made boerewors sausage, bacon, and a coconut drop biscuit.

For the kids, they can enjoy the Kid’s Explorer Platter with one cage-free egg served any style, African home fries, bacon, and a coconut drop biscuit. Or they can chow down on some classic Mickey waffles and bacon!

Sanaa is located in Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Sanaa Kuamsha Breakfast is offered 7-10am and reservations are not required. If you’re dining for the lunch or dinner period, reservations are highly encouraged. Each one is made from plant-based ingredients like vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, seeds and legumes – and without animal meat, dairy, eggs or honey. From sweet treats to three-course meals, and everything in between, there are more than 400 craveable creations to choose from.

Get ready to chow down on some good ol’ classic American barbecue with Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue, coming to Epcot this winter! This new fast-casual barbecue experience at The American Adventure will offer up classic American backyard barbecue from around the United States as well as a variety of home-style craft brews.

On the menu are a variety of sandwiches and platters as well as a plant-based option. Chow down on a sliced Texas beef brisket sandwich with house-made spicy mop sauce on garlic toast or the South Carolina smoked sausage sandwich with tangy mustard sauce and caramelized onions.

You can also feast on Kansas City smoked chicken, Memphis dry-rub pork ribs, North Carolina chopped smoked pork butt, all available by themselves or as part of a delicious hearty platter. For a lighter option, you can grab the Power Greens Salad with chilled pulled chicken, fresh citrus, and a citrus vinaigrette. And if you’re looking for an all-American burger, try the grilled burger topped with BBQ pork and a fried onion ring or take a bite out of the plant-based BBQ burger featuring a plant-based patty topped with BBQ jackfruit served on vegan garlic toast.

Of course, if you’re like me, you’ll enjoy slathering your entrée in a delicious barbecue sauce. Sauces include a spicy mop sauce, sweet BBQ, tangy mustard, and a vinegar-based sauce. The side items include your classic barbecue complements like french fries, beer-battered onion rings, mac and cheese, baked beans with burnt ends, house-made pickles, and creamy slaw.

Kids can enjoy their own fun-sized bites including a burger, BBQ chicken salad, BBQ chicken leg or chicken salad, and even a BBQ rib platter, all served with their choice of two sides.

This year’s party features an array of sweet and savory bites that will keep you merry and bright all season long. Guests loved Disney Villains After Hours in 2019 so much that next year, Disney Villains After Hours 2020 is coming back to Magic Kingdom Park with more nights and more wicked fun for all!

In 2020, the event will take place on 24 select nights February 7 through July 10! Yes, that’s 14 additional nights!

Disney Villains After Hours 2020 is bringing back the villain-themed elements guests loved:

“Villains Unite the Night” stage show. Hades and Meg from “Hercules” will set the castle stage ablaze in this exciting and villainous show which also features appearances by Jafar, The Queen, Dr. Facilier and Maleficent.
Spot Maleficent the Dragon. Maleficent the Dragon, with her Steampunk style and signature wicked grin will be let loose at night – breathing fire as she creeps through the park as a one-of-a-kind experience for party guests.
Dance the night away at the Cinderella Castle Forecourt stage, where a party DJ will be spinning some sick beats, transforming the entire Central Plaza of the park into a killer club scene.
Discover surprising, villain-inspired additions to Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain.
Eat and drink wickedly good food & beverages. A variety of specialty food & beverage offerings will be available for purchase, including tasty desserts, drinks and dishes inspired by your favorite villainous friends.

Your favorite elves are returning once again this holiday season for the popular holiday nighttime spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In addition to fun holiday decorations and offerings throughout the park, “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” is a fabulously festive fireworks spectacular that occurs every night from November 8, 2019, to January 5, 2020. And with the return of this popular show comes the return of the amazing 2019 Jingle Bell Jingle BAM Dessert Party! If you’re looking to add a sweet ending to your fun-filled day in the park, this festive holiday dining experience is the way to go.

First, head over to Echo Lake to enjoy an array of holiday-themed snacks, decadent desserts, beer, wine, and specialty alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. On the menu this year are items including warm cheese fondue with pretzel bread, roasted onion dip with kettle chips, winter-spiced trail mix, Yule log cake, caramel apple verrine, and more. There will also be festive holiday cookies and assorted beverages such as a gingerbread martini and hot chocolate. And while you take part in the festivities, Chip and Dale will available for character greetings!
