This week’s Limited Time Magic surprise is bringing the Downtown Disney Chalk Art Festival to the Downtown Disney area at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida this weekend. You can add a dash of color to your weekend with the Downtown Disney Chalk Art Festival! You will love the opportunity to watch in wonder as talented artists intricately transform flat concrete walkways into canvases for their amazing works of art. This is your chance to marvel at the eye-catching creations while they carefully come together, as they are crafted entirely from chalk and other materials. Plus, while you are visiting the Downtown Disney area, be sure to stop by the Art of Disney Gallery and celebrate with artist Greg McCullough as he appears for signings—from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, October 2 to October 6, 2013. You will have the opportunity to meet the mind behind the art as Walt Disney World Resort showcases the release of new pieces in his collection.

Transportation from Animal Kingdom to Downtown Disney Now Available

If you’re going to be at Disney World this month or next, you will want to know about this exciting new test! Direct transportation is now available from Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park to the Downtown Disney area. The Walt Disney World Resort in Florida will be running a limited time test now through October 31 which will allow guests to take Disney transportation (by bus) straight to Downtown Disney from Animal Kingdom. The bus service will run every day from 3:00 p.m. through 1:00 a.m. This transportation option will allow guests who are leaving Animal Kingdom the opportunity to enjoy the unique shopping, delicious food, and great entertainment that is available at Downtown Disney. You will be dropped off near Cirque de Soleil, near the Downtown Disney West Side bus station. Then, you can use return service for any of the Walt Disney World Resorts (Downtown Disney Marketplace or Pleasure Island bus stations) or the parking lot at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Downtown Disney West Side bus station).

Try a LEGO Mini Build at Downtown Disney

Are you looking to try something new on your next Disney World vacation or for something free on a day outside of the theme parks? You should stop by the LEGO Imagination Center at Downtown Disney at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

The LEGO store at Downtown Disney hosts monthly LEGO Mini Builds. The photo above shows the LEGO figure for August was a flamingo.

Here are a few things you should know about the LEGO Monthly Mini Builds:

  • The event is designed for kids ages 6-14 years old. Parents can help their kids, and LEGO staff are also on hand to guide children along each step
  • Mini builds happen on the first Tuesday of every month from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. It’s best if you get there early since there are a limited number of kits
  • There’s a different theme every month
  • These events are totally free

The next LEGO mini build at the LEGO store at Downtown Disney will be Tuesday, September 3, 2013. (Rumor has it that it may be a pirate theme!)

New Magic Mirror at Downtown Disney

Have you heard about the new Magic Mirror at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida? The Magic Mirror can be found at the World of Disney store at Downtown Disney. Little girls love playing dress up and dreaming of their favorite Disney princess. Now, with the new Magic Mirror, your little princess can see herself as her favorite Disney princess.

On your next Disney World vacation, make sure you stop by the World of Disney store at Downtown Disney, in the Marketplace section. You can check out the latest interactive experience from Disney Theme Park Merchandise, the Magic Mirror.

Most Disney fans will remember the Magic Mirror from Walt Disney’s animated classic, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” However, this Magic Mirror is a little different than the Magic Mirror from Snow White since this one is only used for doing good and making Princesses’ dreams come true.

With the help of a little Disney magic, your little princess can virtually try on a collection of authentic Disney Princess gowns and accessories, and then watch herself transform into their favorite princess (or princesses) right before her very eyes.

So now you may be wondering, how does the Magic Mirror work? All you have to do is stand directly in front of the mirror and watch the magic unfold as the mirror comes to life.

New Looks and Packages at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Pirates League

Aspiring pirates, mermaids and princesses can now experience an even more pixie dust and piratical fun with Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and The Pirates League’s new packages that have been added to their line-up of already magical makeovers!

You can visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique inside Fantasyland at Disneyland park in California and the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney Marketplace at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida to check out the new makeover now available. Inspired by Disney Junior’s Sofia the First, young girls can learn what it’s like to not only look like a princess, but to have the heart of a princess, too. The Sofia the First transformation includes “Sofia the First” hair styling, shimmering makeup, nail polish, and an assortment of delicate accessories including a crown and hair bow.

Ahoy ye mateys! If savvy swashbuckling is more your style, then you can head over to the Pirates League at the Magic Kingdom. The Pirates League has added a “Mermaid Deluxe Package” and “Jake and the Never Land Pirates Deluxe Package” to its offerings. These deluxe style packages will include your favorite elements from the ever-popular “Mermaid” and “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” packages (which will still be available), but with a few new additions!

The Mermaid Deluxe Package includes Luminous Mermaid Make-up and make-up palette, Mermaid Hairstyle with Color Changing Hair Clip, Distinctive Mermaid Necklace, Nail Polish, Mermaid Sash, plus a special mermaid costume T-shirt and tutu!

“The Jake and the Never Land Pirates” Deluxe Package includes a Jake Bandana with faux hair, sword and sheath, The Pirates League Bag, a unique pirate coin necklace, and a Jake and the Never Land Pirates costume T-shirt to complete the look!

Be sure to book your appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or Pirates League as early as possible as space is limited. For the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, children must be between 3-12 years of age and accompanied by an adult.

New Dooney & Bourke Rainbow Collection Coming to Disney World

There is a new Dooney & Bourke Rainbow Collection coming to Disney World. The Dooney & Bourke Rainbow collection will add to the current Disney Dooney & Bourke collections.

 The new Dooney & Bourke Mickey Rainbow Letter Collection appears on four black silhouettes. The accessories in this collection include a large Pocket Tote ($295), Satchel ($195), Pocket Satchel ($260), and Tablet Sleeve ($90).

The fashion forward store, Tren-D, at the Downtown Disney Marketplace at the Walt Disney World Resort will have all of these items and more starting on Saturday, May 25, 2013. Also on May 25, Tren-D will have a “Sample Sale” of some never released bags in the Disney Dooney & Bourke collection. Ian Ray will even be on hand for a special appearance and signing opportunity from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. that day! If you plan to attend the Dooney & Bourke Rainbow Collection release and signing, make sure you ask about a special gift with purchase.

Tip: Be sure to get there early! Although Ian isn’t signing until later, the collection, along with the other bags, will be available when Tren-D opens on May 25, 2013.

If you like the collection, but would prefer the pattern on a white background, you’re in luck. For a limited time, beginning on June 3, www.DisneyParks.com/Store will offer a Rainbow Collection Letter Carrier with a white background. But of course, it’s only available while supplies last.
