Photo Tour: Easter Egg Display at Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort

There is always something special to celebrate at Disney World! During many times of the year, there are special events or activities planned at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. If you are visiting during spring break, you may get to enjoy the Easter Egg Display at Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

For the third year in a row, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is hosting a beautiful Easter egg display in their elegant lobby. This magnificent display is full of edible works of art, inspired by spring and some of Disney’s greatest films. You can  see the Easter egg display at Disney World through April 22, 2014.

This year’s Easter egg display at Disney World features 18 eggs. According to Chef Erich, it took 18 to 20 hours to create each egg on display. Master pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek, along with the pastry team at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, hand-paint the huge eggs, which are each 16 to 20 inches tall! Each egg is tinted with cocoa butter and then portrays an amazing theme such as “Frozen,” “The Little Mermaid,” Cinderella,” “Pocahontas,” or “Lady and the Tramp.” Each egg is created with all edible ingredients including modeling chocolate, sculpted sugar, and royal icing.

Easter Egg Hunt at Disney Parks

disney eggs

If you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida or the Disneyland Resort in California before Easter this year, your family can enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt at Disney Parks! Based on the success of last year’s egg hunts at Epcot and Disney California Adventure Park, this egg-citing event is back by popular demand!

You can look for special hidden eggs that are decorated to look like Disney characters in Epcot, Disney California Adventure Park, and Disneyland park from April 10-20, 2014. Each of the parks has maps and stickers available for purchase for $4.95 plus tax. On the map, you can record where you find each egg by placing the corresponding sticker on the specially themed Egg-stravaganza map in that location. You can find maps and stickers in the following locations:

  • Epcot – Heritage Manor (American Adventure Pavilion), Disney Traders, International Gateway, Pin Central and Port of Entry
  • Disney California Adventure park – Elias & Co., Oswald’s, Radiator Springs Curios, Rushin’ River Outfitters, Studio Store and Treasures in Paradise.
  • Disneyland park – Disney Showcase, Fairy Tale Treasures, Gag Factory, Pieces of Eight and Pooh Corner

After your egg hunt, you can return your map to one of the following redemption locations: Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure park; Disney Showcase in Disneyland park or Disney Traders in Epcot, where you can participate in an ‘egg-scramble’ and pick up your surprise.

You can purchase as many maps as you’d like and play again and again! Please note that regular theme park admission is required and this experience is subject to restrictions and change without notice.
