Two vehicles from the Disney-Pixar hit franchise “Cars,” Aiken Axler and Sage VanDerSpin, have officially made their debut at the Richard Petty Driving Experience at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Kids between the ages of six and thirteen can enjoy a Piston Cup Junior Ride Along with one of these two cars.
The cars were both created by Jay Ward, the “Cars” creative director. These two made their grand debut on June 14 as a part of the new Junior Ride-Along program at the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Here, children ages 6 to 13 (and at least 48 inches tall) have the opportunity to experience real-life racing excitement. Each child can ride shotgun with a professional driving instructor for three thrilling laps in one of these specially equipped Piston Cup race cars.
According to their official biographies, “#80 VanDerSpin races for Team “Gask-its” and is the youngest winner of the Junior Piston Cup Pro Series. Axler is the #28 Nitroade racer who captured the Vitoline Rookie of the Year honors in his first full season of Cup competition. Both will sport their team colors and sponsors.”
Junior Ride-Alongs do not require reservations and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
